These terms govern self-serve use of PIT, a developer API for the information set at time T. The operator is AQX LLC.

1. The product

PIT returns a knowledge cut: the rows that were visible at the instant you name, under the clock you name. Every query names a visibility clock, and the response repeats which one it used. A day the corpus does not hold comes back labeled in coverage.missing with count as JSON null. available_at comes from a receipt we took or from a clock the publisher published. availability_basis says which of the two it was, and the field stays null when we have neither. Public samples are watermarked sample: true, serve fixed examples only, and grant no plan rights.

2. Account

You log in with GitHub, Google, or an email magic link. You must be able to bind a verified email. You are responsible for keys issued to the account. Revoke a key that leaks. We may refuse or close an account that breaks these terms or the acceptable use rules.

Delete the account with DELETE /v1/me from the dashboard. Keys are revoked in that step. Invoices and usage totals stay for tax.

3. Plans and payment

Self-serve has three plans: Researcher at $29 a month, Power at $79, and Desk at $499. All three are billed monthly at founding prices. There is no free API key. Stripe Checkout and the customer portal handle subscribe, cancel, card, and plan change. Checkout requires this attestation:

I will use PIT for internal research and applications I operate for myself or my employer. If my product's end users receive this data, or I redistribute it, I need a Commercial License.

Cancel any time in the portal. Refunds: /legal/refund.

4. License

The grant is on the license page. Short version: self-serve is non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, internal use only. End-user display, redistribution, resale, a customer-facing product, training a public model for others, or a competing information API needs a commercial license from operations@aqx.llc.

5. Keys, rate limits, files

Keys are pit_live_ secrets, hashed at rest, shown once. Researcher holds 3 keys and 60 requests a minute; Power holds 10 keys and 300 a minute; Desk holds 25 keys and 1,200 a minute. Flat files come with Power and Desk, and the SSE stream is on every paid plan. Every plan reads the whole ingested history, so the limits and the files are the only differences between them. Each account is one login: there are no seats to invite, share, or administer on any plan.

No plan promises current data. The corpus holds what we have ingested: SEC EDGAR and Federal Register Public Inspection end 2023-03-31, and the newest row of any source is 2024-08-06. Coverage for each partition — one source on one day — is published at /docs/coverage and served at GET /v1/coverage. A day we do not hold is reported as missing, and available_at is set only from a receipt we took or a clock the publisher published.

6. What the API does not promise

The corpus has gaps and the API reports them. A 409 with count: null means we do not have that partition; an empty cut over days we do hold is count: 0. SEC rows usually carry a null available_at, so a query on that clock fails closed. We do not scrape or retain WSJ, Reuters, or Bloomberg bodies. PIT sells filing and rulemaking metadata only, with no prices, no sentiment scores, and no brokerage service.

7. Acceptable use

No resale of the corpus. No competing firehose. No “derived official archive” of publisher bodies. Full list: acceptable use.

8. Term

These terms apply while you have an account or a key. After cancel, stop calling paid routes. Samples remain public. We may change these pages; the date above is the current text.

9. Disclaimers

The API is provided as-is. Public-record sources have gaps. We do not warrant that a cut is complete, that a clock exists on every row, or that use of PIT will produce a particular research result. To the extent the law allows, AQX LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for amounts above fees paid in the three months before the claim.

10. Governing law and disputes

The law of the State of Delaware governs these terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of PIT, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

Disputes are heard in the state and federal courts sitting in Delaware. Both sides consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there. These terms send nothing to arbitration, and both sides keep the right to a jury trial. Each side brings its claims on its own behalf, not as a class or representative action. Either side may ask any court with jurisdiction for an injunction against misuse of an account or of the corpus.
